Monster Tunnel Slots
Monsters are no longer something to be scared of when you climb into your bed at night. Now they’re a way of winning it big and landing yourself a x1,000-credit jackpot. And they are your guides to the world that goes on underneath the streets that you tread without a second thought. If you thought that monsters lived under your bed, you’re about to be disappointed with the reveal of a much scarier truth: that they inhabit tunnels.
These monsters are not only far from creepy, they’re also very cute looking, and so you won’t mind finding many of them on the 5 reels and its 3x5 grid.
The boring confines of the grid have been done away with and a frame less design has been used in its place, all of which helps to make the title feel a lot more contemporary. This is a title that’s well suited to the modern gamer, someone who likes aesthetics that keep on pushing the boundaries of impressiveness.
Get Your Torches
Unlike horror films of the past that would encourage a mob to go down there and kill all of the creatures in their way, in this game you only need a torch in order to light up the way as you travel further down. There’s minimal lighting provided in here, and so a torch of some kind is wise - even your mobile will do.
Once down there, you’re going to come across a lot of grime and grease, which calls for a change of clothes; down here isn’t meant for being dressed up and looking fancy. Now that you’re ready to get down and dirty (you filthy minded people), let’s look at the monsters on the pay table.
Random Encounters
The yellow spotted monster chowing down on the wild symbol is who you need to find if you want other icons to be subbed; despite its strong jaw, its powers are no match for the steel skeleton that can be found upon dissecting this beastie.
Unlike the wild, this icon isn’t a monster of any kind, and is instead a sample of the art that they’re capable of. It’s street graffiti at its best, just a shame that not many humans will come across it… such is the life of the struggling artist. The number of free games up for grabs varies depending on how many of the symbols you find; three tiles will give you the least amount of games with a 5 limit, while five of the tiles will get you 15.
In addition to this, the tile will also give players some cash; the payout of the free spins isn’t that grand, though five of the tiles will get you €100.
Gruesome Yet Adorable
There’s an unlikely bunch of characters upon the grid: some of them are so cutesy it’ll make you want to vomit, while others look like angry balls of rage, ready to attack at an opportune moment. These are the monsters we’ve been told to fear, and yet the scariest of them all, a pink ball, pays out the most cash.
At the lower end, looking a lot less menacing, is the bug-eyed monster. This critter is as damaging to your health as it is helpful to your account balance; you’ll never get over €50 with this symbol, which would be fine if the match of three didn’t equal a mere 5 credits.
This is it for the game play, and so we’re on our way to the final thoughts and whether we’d recommend this to other players; stay tuned to read what we have to say. It may just surprise you - like the monsters in Monster Tunnel have.
Monsterific
We didn’t get excited when we started Monster Tunnel, but the easy to play interface and pleasant aesthetics soon won us over, and while we wouldn’t class it as an all time great, it has a lot of potential. Even though this isn’t ever unlocked, the title is still an enjoyable experience, which means we’d give it about a 3 out of 5 rating.
If it had included a bonus level, the final verdict would have been a lot higher; a bonus round doesn’t make a game, but it certainly makes it last longer and a lot less repetitive.
