Windy Farm Slots
If you’re a fan of Rival Gaming video slots, then you’ll probably recognise the visual style that they like to use when making their games. Windy Farm is a farm-based release that appears to be a combination of the famous Facebook game Farmville and a slot machine.
This kind of “out there” title is hardly a new idea for Rival Gaming, as they’ve never been afraid to try something new and see what happens; something made evident with Windy Farm.
Given that Windy Farm is a new game, many people are left wondering how well it can stack up when compared to other games from Rival Gaming, along with other slot tiles in general. That’s why we played it for you and put together this review, which really delivers the low-down on all that Windy Farm has to offer.
Battling the Elements Unlike Every Before
With a name like Windy Farm, you won’t be surprised to hear that this game is focused around a rather windy looking farm. It’s so windy that everything is being blown all over, including some pretty big wins. Credentials wise, there are 50 lines of action in this game spread across 5 reels. Take a look at the weather vanes to see which way the wind and the expanding wilds are going.
Running for Cover
Windy Farm looks beautiful as it follows the same kind of vibrant and colourful palette one would expect from a Rival Gaming slot machine. The foreground of the game contains a rich assortment of animals assembled in front of a barn door. The game screen is put together so well you really could convince yourself you were relaxing in a rural American farm field.
The game also contains a thematic and immersive soundtrack, even if it can get a little repetitive in moments. The bottom of the screen is where you can find all the controls for the game. Given that you might not be able to tell right away what the buttons do what, it’s handy that you can hover your mouse over them to find out.
Expanding Across the Reels
Rival Gaming have put something pretty amazing into this game in the form of directionally expanding wilds. Many slot machine players are already familiar with the concept of expanding wilds.
These wilds are a step above even that for a number of different reasons. They actually expand in the direction the wind is blowing, which you can check by looking at the weather vanes and the tumbleweed. It’s a little bit odd, but the way the weather ties into the theme of Windy Farm really does work, so hats off to Rival Gaming in that regard.
Like a Headless Chicken
Looking into the wilds element of Windy Farm a little further, the chicken symbol is the wild symbol in this game. The real treat of this feature is the advanced nature of it. If the wind gets too bad then the wild will expand upwards, whereas it will expand down if the wind calms down. It still has the same basic features as any other wild symbol though; it can be used to replace any of the basic symbols and create a winning combination.
Beware of the Angry Bull
As well as having a wild symbol Windy Farm features a scatter symbol in the form of the angry bull. Getting three bulls anywhere on screen will reward you with 7 free spins. While the game hardly hands out a lofty amount of free spins, these little extras will certainly add to your gameplay experience.
Whipping Through Windy Farm!
This is one of those slot machines that can only really be described as fun and fantastic. Windy Farm has more features than most video slot machines around today, and the theme makes it feel like the gambler’s equivalent of Farmville.
It would be nice if there were more bonus features, but there’s definitely enough to keep you entertained and winning. There’s a ton of pay lines, big bets, and charm that will keep you coming back for more.
So, get together with the chickens, goats, pigs, horses and bull, and enjoy a wild and windy day down at Windy Farm!
