Let the Battle Begin
Three Kingdoms offers three different virtual environments for players to enjoy, depending on which side they chose to fight for in the upcoming battle.
Each kingdom is color coded in either green, blue or red. Each of them has a different landscape, from cities to mountains or lush bamboo forests. Choose your kingdom on the map, or switch sides at any time during the game with the change kingdom button.
Three Kingdoms is a rather original game thanks to its three integrated universes. Once that you have customize your background, let’s head on to the game play itself…
Into the Heart of the Fight
Three Kingdoms is a very easy game to play, with only a few settings to take care of before you can spin the reels and check if luck is on your side.
The 20 fixed pay lines of the game are placed across 5 reels in all directions, showing where symbol combinations need to land in order to yield cash rewards during the game. Simply use the (+) and (-) buttons on the red band under the reels to set a wager and spin the reels as soon as you feel ready to start gambling.
All the rewards in Three Kingdoms are based on the symbols aligned across the reels and the size of your wager itself. You can always choose to risk some extra credits to unlock larger prizes down the line. The choice is all yours, so feel free to adjust your settings accordingly whenever you feel the need to. The auto switch on top of the reels triggers the auto play game mode. Activate it to place the same wager on several consecutive spins and speed up the entire game. All wins in auto play will add up into your personal credit stash.
Short and Simple
Three Kingdoms sticks to a very simple pay table with few reel symbols and relatively modest rewards. We will give a few examples here from the perspective of a one-credit bet on the reels.
The different jewel symbols are clearly the more common on the reels of the game. There are 6 of them in total, in different colors, and all can trigger cash prizes in groups of 3, 4 or 5. These rewards range from 10 to 40 credits, regardless of the type of jewel that you manage to find a combination of.
The 3 generals are more elusive and, on the other hand, more rewarding as well. Twice as much to be precise, with a maximum win of 80 credits. So as you can see, Three Kingdoms is not as exciting as other games when it comes to the basic pay table.
Last Surprises on the Reels
Three Kingdoms has still a few aces up its sleeves to surprise players and allow for some more occasions to win big on the reels, if you want what to look for.
Depending on the kingdom you have chosen, the corresponding general will turn into a wild card. Worth up to 500 credits in a combination, this general can also replace all the other symbols on the reels and give you another chance to win a prize every time it shows up. Besides, wilds can also grow and cover an entire reel at once.
Another interesting feature of Three Kingdoms is the way winning combinations are counted. You do have to stick to the pay lines available, but adjacent symbols will pay regardless of their exact position. This means that winning combinations do not have to start on the first reel, as it is the case for so many other games.
Perhaps a Bit of a Let Down
There is a lot to say both in favor of and against Three Kingdoms. The positive points are obviously the changing universe and beautiful graphics, not to mention a generous approach to the game play.
That being said, Three Kingdoms does not offer as many winning possibilities as other games of the same maker. The pay table is just a little too short, and players could have use a few more original symbols as well.
