Tivoli Bonanza Slot Machine
Tivoli Bonanza is a 5-reel, amusement park themed video slot that doesn’t stray too far from the classic slot machine format. The title, which was developed by the Play’n GO software platform, features 9 configurable paylines and has no less than four progressive jackpots up for grabs.
Admittedly the developers have not poured a lot of effort into making this particular slot a visual masterpiece, but its progressive prizes should be more than enough to lure in gimlet-eyed gamers. After all, who’s gonna quibble about the startling lack of 3D symbols if they manage to hit a five or six-figure sum?
Just be aware, though: progressive jackpots can only be won by those playing with the maximum number of coins. The game’s return-to-player percentage is 93.05%.
Tivoli Bonanza is available to try out in free slots mode or with real cash – at a brace of online casinos.
Betting Bonanza
Coin values in Tivoli Bonanza start from as low as 0.1, rising to 0.10, and up to 5 coins can be staked per line. As such, the maximum bet-per-spin is 4.50. All wins are multiplied by the bet staked per line except for scatter wins, and all wins pay left to right, again with the exception of scatters, which pay anywhere. Only the highest win is paid per selected payline.
Layout
Tivoli Bonanza is set on a traditional 5x3 reel grid, which appears against a patterned teal-blue backdrop. Looks like Granny’s wallpaper, don’t it? Anyway, your eye will surely be drawn to the flashing tabs in the upper left and right-hand corners. These are the four progressive jackpots, comprising the Tivoli Jackpot, Sweet Jackpot, Diamond Jackpot and 3-Scoops Jackpot. The title of the game appears in the centre, bookended by the running tabs.
Use the control panel at the bottom to spin the reels, bet at maximum, regulate lines (1-9) and stakes and activate auto play: you can play as many as 50 automatic spins at a time.
Game symbols, meanwhile, include the Tivoli logo, a four-leaf clover, a hot air balloon, an ice cream, a lollipop, a merry go round horse, golden bells and a red 7. Each symbol awards cash prizes when found in a combination of three, four or five matching. The most lucrative is the red 7, which pays seven for two, 70 for three, 250 for four and 3,500 for five. The golden bell pays 5, 40, 200 and 2,000 and the horseshoe, which doesn’t pay out for just two icons, pays 30 for three, 150 for four and 1,500 for five.
While you play, jaunty circus-style music will pipe out of the slot; just hit mute if the vaudeville routine threatens to give you a migraine.
Special Icons
Aside from the regular line wins, and the progressive jackpots, the slot comes with two special icons. The first is the diamond composed of four separate, smaller diamonds. This one grants scatter rewards that are multiplied by the gamer’s bet. Find it in combinations of two, three, four or five and you’ll win multipliers of two, five, 20 and 400.
The other special icon is the Tivoli icon, which shows fireworks exploding in the night sky. If you’re playing at less than the maximum number of coins, you’ll win 50, 500 or 5,000 for three, four or five matching symbols; but if you’re playing at max bet, you’ll win one of the progressive jackpots. For three icons you’ll land the 3-Scoops Jackpot, for four it’s the Sweet Jackpot and for five the Diamond Jackpot. If you’re lucky enough to land five on the ninth payline, you’ll win the overall Tivoli Jackpot, the most lucrative on offer.
Old-School, but Fun
Tivoli Bonanza might have an old-school design, but with four progressive jackpots on the line, it’s certainly worth a spin. This is a game to which you will turn in the hope of winning serious dosh; as such, its design failings can rather easily be overlooked. Which is not to say they’re terrible, of course; on the contrary, we rather liked the fact that there were no playing icons clogging up the reels. It’s simply to say that there are many more visually appealing slots out there.
But then again, how many of those boast four separate progressive jackpots? Precious few, we’d wager. Tivoli Bonanza is well worth the price of admission.
