Spin & Win Slots
Spin & Win is a rather silly name for a video slot, wouldn’t you agree? After all, ‘spin and win’ is rather misleading, suggesting that every spin of the reels will be accompanied by a pay-out. That’s not the case, of course – if it was, the game would very quickly become a global sensation, bankrupting Play’n GO in the process.
Still, the fruit-themed 5-reeler is no trifling casino game. On the contrary, it’s connected to the developer’s progressive jackpot network, offering players the prospect of winning life-changing sums of money. The high-quality slot has 5 reels, 5 lines and a theoretical return-to-player percentage of 97.02%.
How to Spin
The instant-play Spin & Win slot comes with a wide betting range; players are free to choose to play with coins ranging in value from 0.01 to 10. Playing on all 5 lines, therefore, means a bet-per-spin of 50 credits. Of course, the gamer does not have to put all 5 lines in play; they can play on a single line if they prefer, chopping and changing as they go depending on their fortunes.
As ever, you’ll find the controls at the bottom of the screen. There is a big shiny Spin button, as well as tabs for Total Bet, Bet Level and Balance. View the pay-table by clicking into it, or set the maximum bet by selecting Bet Max. There’s also an Autoplay function.
Look and Feel
Spin & Win isn’t the most visually appealing slot you’ve ever seen, but nor is it a design disaster. The 5x3 reel grid is bordered by gold and appears against a TV studio backdrop, complete with klieg lights and a Spin & Win wheel of fortune. The title appears above the reels in purple writing, and the reel columns themselves are a lighter shade of purple.
As for the symbols, they will be more than a little familiar: there are strawberries, pineapples, bells, gold bars, triple 7s and lemons. There’s also a blonde lady, who appears in front of the aforementioned money wheel; the multicoloured wheel itself; and a Spin & Win logo. The graphics are decent enough without being outstanding.
One thing you’ll want to keep note of is the figures in the top-right hand corner. There are three tabs, for the Tasty Jackpot, the Luxury Jackpot and the Dream Chance Jackpot. These are the progressive prizes you will surely be hoping to win.
Spinning and Winning
The aim, as ever, is to find matching combinations of three, four or five icons on an active line. Symbols must appear left to right, starting from the leftmost reel.
As well as the prospect of winning cash prizes, there’s also a bonus mini-game to be enjoyed. This is triggered when you land three or more of the female TV host icons anywhere on the reels. The symbols will then morph into gifts, which hover in front of the screen; your task will be to select one, thereby revealing an accompanying prize. If you hesitate for too long, the box will be chosen for you.
Spinning the Bonus Wheel
The Spin & Win bonus wheel feature is set off by landing three or more bonus wheel scatter icons. A coloured wheel with six segments appears on screen, after which you’ll be required to spin it. This feature gives you the chance to win prizes depending on where the arrow lands. The colour on which you land will be scored with an X, and the round terminates if the arrow lands on the X following a second spin.
Let’s get down to business: how do you win the progressive jackpots? Well, you’ll need to land three, four or five scatters encircled by gold rings. Three rings buys you a spin on the bronze wheel, linked with the Tasty Jackpot. You could also win a regular cash prize or progress to the silver wheel.
Four rings, meanwhile, lets you play the silver wheel, for a chance to win Tasty and Luxury Jackpots or a lesser cash award. You could also progress on to the gold wheel.
Five rings and you’ll be granted a spin on the hallowed gold wheel. You could win the Luxury and Dream Chance Jackpots, or a lesser cash prize.
Worth a Spin?
Spin & Win won’t win any awards for its design, but it is nonetheless an enjoyable slot featuring nice bonus features, three progressive jackpots and a gamble mode. Give it a go and see how you fare.
