Leprechaun Goes Egypt Online Slot Review
There are plenty of slots themed on Ancient Egypt, and a fair few which include Leprechauns too – though combining them into a single game is a first for me. The result is a quirky game, which manages to be entertaining without going too crazy with the idea. There are two different bonus rounds, one free spins and another involving guiding the Leprechaun though an Egyptian tomb (as you do…).
What I really liked about this game are the subtleties with the graphic and animations. Small touches like the golden mask growing a big ginger beard, and painting the Sphinx green keep you entertained while you spin. Cleopatra is one of the bonus symbols, and will transform into an Irish maid (complete with pint of Guinness) when you hit the free spins bonus feature. Even the playing card symbols lucky clovers behind. The audio is more Irish than Egyptian, playing a jolly tune while you spin.
The free spins bonus allows you to choose between lower and higher variance options, while the other bonus game is a pick-em where you guide the Leprechaun through a tomb until he meets the mummy.
Setup and Play for Leprechaun Goes to Egypt
Like most Play N Go slots, this game has 15 win lines, and lets you choose how many to play. You’ll be able to play up to 5 coins for each line, and choose the coin value from 1c to 25c. Assuming you stick with the full 15 lines, this gives a range of 15c through to $18.75c per spin. Configurable auto play is available, as is the standard ‘gamble after win’ option.
The Sarcophagus mask (golden mask) is the best of the standard symbols, this is worth 750 coins for 5 on a line and 250 coins for 4. Next comes the Sphinx (500 coins for 5), Mummy and Scarab beetle. Playing card symbols make up the smaller wins.
All wins which include the Leprechaun are doubled. This guy (complete with cigar) is also the wild symbol, substituting for everything except the bonus / scatter symbols. You’ll win a generous 3000 coins for 5 Leprechauns on the line.
Cleopatra is the scatter symbol, and also triggers the free spins bonus game. You will win 150x your total bet for 5 of these anywhere on the reels. The final symbol is a pyramid, this triggers the tomb round with 3 on the reels, though does not have any prize of its own attached.
Leprechaun Goes Egypt – Bonus Games
When you get the free spins you’ll have a choice of 3 options. First the Cleopatra spins, which is 5 spins with a 6x multiplier. Next the Leprechaun, which is 10 spins with a 3x multiplier, and finally the mummy spins, 15 at 2x. During these spins the Leprechaun symbol still doubles any wins, so you can get up to 12x if you are lucky.
The tomb bonus is essentially an entertaining pick-em game. You get to guide the Leprechaun though an Egyptian tomb. The first level you pick from 4 doors, which will either reveal a prize amount or a mummy. If you get the mummy this chases you out of the tomb and the game ends, while the prizes get bigger at every level. You’ll next pick from 3, then 2 and finally have to ‘defeat’ the mummy. The top prize is a worthwhile 500x your total spin amount.
Leprechaun Goes Egypt – Conclusion
This is an entertaining game, I have to applaud Play N Go for not going so over the top as to spoil the idea. There are subtle jokes (the orange beard on the sarcophagus mask for example) and a light feel to this slot which is missing from many other games. Standard play has the double-up from the wild to keep you interested, as well as the animations. The main attraction has to be the free spins game. Over the very long run your wins should be the same whether you pick the low or the high variance options. I always see the ability to choose the number / multiplier combination as a plus though – as we all have different approaches and bankroll sizes. The tomb game is a nice touch, bringing the cross-over theme to life.
All-in all a very entertaining slot, I will be back for another spin at some point down the line – and recommend that you check out this game for yourself.
