Fortune Teller Online Slot
This is a colourful game, part gypsy, part Spanish with a little mysticism thrown in. You’ll find a bonus game based on tarot type cards, as well as a free spins round. The smooth and professional Play N Go setup is very much in play with this slot. My one gripe applies to a lot of slot games. If any slot designers are reading this I’d like to ask you to think carefully about one thing. Next time you have a cat symbol on the reels, and someone comes up with the bright idea of having a ‘meow’ sound every time a winning combination hits with this – please, just say no! That aside, this is a very nice 20 line slot, and whether you like cats or not, is well worth a spin.
I think the best word to describe the design would be ‘lavish’. The colours are rich, the symbols intricate and the background dark and moonlit. There are some animations, for example the eye in the hand blinks and candle flickers – this is small scale and does not make the overall look of the game too hectic or intensive. Sounds are used very effectively, with the violin warming up while the reels spin and continuing a tune if wins come in. This is accompanied by a Spanish guitar and of course that annoying cat.
The fortune telling bonus lets you pick cards, with a special pay table for the results. This is essentially just a pick-em game, though is entertainingly put together. Free spins get wilds (in the form of the cat) and can result in some bigger wins.
Setup and Play for Fortune Teller
Play N Go has used their 20 line setup for this slot. You can choose any number of these, and also play up to 5 coins per line. The minimum / maximum spin costs are 20c / $25 assuming the full 20 lines. Auto play is available, and can be configured to stop in various scenarios.
Wilds in this game are the crystal ball. This is also the symbol with the biggest prize attached, paying 5000 coins for 5 on a line with 500 for 4. This substitutes for the regular symbols, though not the cat or bonus signs.
Regular symbols are topped with the gypsy fortune teller; she is worth 1000 coins for 5. The hand and sun-calendar are worth 500 for 5 and the candle 250. Playing cards ace down to 10, which are lavishly designed, make up the many smaller wins.
The cat is the scatter symbol, and can bring you a windfall of 300x your total spin amount if you get 5 anywhere on the reels. 4 will bring a respectable 30x your total bet. 3 or more cats bring you the free spins feature. The final symbol says ‘bonus’, 3 of these will trigger the fortune teller pick-em game.
Fortune Teller Bonus Features
The free spins game triggers 15 spins. The background of the reels will change with cats sitting either side at the top of the reels. Cat symbols become extra wilds in this feature, in addition to the normal crystal ball wilds. One ‘touch’ added to this bonus game is that there is one ‘meow’ sound effect for every cat wild that appears. You cannot retrigger during play.
With 3 bonus symbols, you’ll go to a break out screen where you are dealt 4 tarot type cards. You choose one of these, and it gets added to the first of 3 spaces on the top left. This is repeated 3 times, at which point your cards are compared to the special pay table on the right hand side of the reels. Some of the wins are significant for this bonus.
Fortune Teller – Conclusion
I liked this slot – despite my protests about the cat! It is rich, colourful and has enough action to keep you interested, without being too intensive. I can imagine that the bonus games will only keep you entertained so many times. This slot would fall into the ‘worth a play, now and again’ category for me. Check it out for yourself soon.
