American rapper Quavious “Quavo” Marshall might be regretting losing his temper with a Las Vegas valet in 2018. A judge ordered him to pay the hotel employee $682,000 this week following a trial that lasted multiple weeks.
the rapper physically and emotionally injured him
Quavo, who formed rap group Migos with his nephew Takeoff and their mutual friend Offset in 2008, received a citation from Las Vegas Metro police in 2018. The Encore Hotel & Casino valet in question, Antonio Henry, claims the rapper physically and emotionally injured him.
According to 8 News Now, one of the most notable moments from the trial came when Marshall’s attorney told the court that the victim was not even injured, but instead wanted a “hip-hop lottery ticket.” He claimed that Henry saw his chance of a payout after the incident.
The jury decided that Quavo should pay the victim $682,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.
According to estimates, Quavo has a net worth of around $28m as of 2024. Before the death of Takeoff in November 2022, Migos, who have a cumulative album and single sales of around 39.5 million in the US, had a collective net worth of around $80m. Takeoff was fatally shot in Texas at 28 years of age.
