A man who followed a woman home from a Pennsylvania casino before breaking into her home and assaulting the victim is now in the hospital after getting shot during the incident.
Khabir Shepard used a firearm to force his way into the woman’s residence at about 1am on Monday, pushed her to the ground, and took her handbag from a nearby table. Law enforcement said that he specifically targeted her, knowing money was in the purse.

Shepard received treatment for his injuries and is now in Montgomery County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail. He faces charges of carrying a firearm without a license, burglary, aggravated assault, and robbery. Police have warned people to be aware of their surroundings, particularly when carrying cash.
