Green light

The Sports Wagering Committee of the Tennessee Education Lottery Board of Directors has approved Action247 for a conditional sports betting license, allowing the operator to offer services in the state. Action247 joins other recently approved license holders as the state’s sports betting industry gears up for launch.

Action247 will offer online sports betting services in Tennessee alongside major brands such as BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings.

Home grown

Action 247 is based in Nashville, owned and operated in the state of Tennessee. It was launched with a simple idea of creating world-class sports betting services for players located in the state. The brand also offers free-to-play sports betting, allowing players to compete and win money and branded merchandise with no risk.

The operator is currently offering players the opportunity to sign up for updates to learn more about when its real money sports betting services will launch in Tennessee. After filling out a form, the brand promises to provide details as soon as they are available.

Right now, Action247 seems to be focused on Tennessee only. No details have been provided as to if they are looking to launch in other states.

Competitive field

The Sports Wagering Committee has been quite busy, approval conditional sports betting licenses to the first group of operators in the state. One supplier application was approved along with 25 vendor applications. Additional meetings are planned for this month to review more applications.

Included in the first group of approvals was Betfair Interactive US LLC, which will operate via FanDuel, Crown TN Gaming, LLC, which will operate via DraftKings, and BetMGM. Susan Lanigan, the Board Chair, said that the Lottery staff completed a large amount of work and due diligence to prepare for the approval decisions.

“We appreciate their efforts as we work to establish and support a responsible and competitive sports wagering program in Tennessee,” Lanigan said.

Launching in November

Because Tennessee does not have any physical casinos, all sports betting activity will be conducted via online websites and mobile applications. Players must be 21 years of age to take part and be physically located in the state to wager.

Back in August, the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation announced that November 1 was the deadline to launch the industry. Operators, suppliers, and vendors were encouraged to be ready by that deadline day so the launch timeline can move forward.
