Girl Slot
From the skilled game makers at BGAMING comes the somewhat subversive Girl Slot, a video slots game that doesn't look at all like what you'd expect from such an innocently named game.
Now that's not to say that it goes in the opposite direction and goes full Spike TV-macho, but it isn't the type of saccharine, over-the-top girly slot game that the name would have implied. The game actually looks to adhere more to a traditional slots setup but with a few additional twists thrown into the mix. When push comes to shove this game has enough about it to make us want to try it out. Actually, given the theme we really wanted to see what this game had to offer as a result.
The presentation is more engaging than initial expectations would have suggested, so how does Girl Slot actually play in comparison?
From Japan to the World
OK, so you were browsing the vast inventory of video slots games that are available on whatever casino website you frequent. You come across something named "Girl Slot", so what are you already thinking? Ponies, unicorns, tons and tons of glitter and sparkles, a deluge of the colour pink, a bunch of poorly rendered Kim Kardashian lookalikes, you could certainly be forgiven for thinking that.
But go figure, as Girl Slot isn't at all like that. In fact, it actually draws from more of an anime influence in its design.
The anime-like girl on the top suggests a more Japanese theme to the game's design, but aside from that image the game actually looks to adhere very much to a traditional slots setup (including the fruit symbols), although the game uses a rather unusual 3x3 reel setup. In fact, the game actually feels a bit Sailor Moon-esque in its design, as it actually looks to draw its influences somewhat from the Magical Girl genre of anime (hence the name, perhaps?). The menu is laid out on the sides, but not all of the buttons are labeled, so you'll need to spend a moment fiddling with them to see what they do.
Traditional and Technical Proficiency
Now lets discuss the technical side of things. Girl Slot uses a rather odd 3x3 reel setup as opposed to a more normal 3x1 or 5x3 reel system. This gives the game five paylines, which for the reel size is to be expected. Coin denominations range from 0.01 to 1 units of currency, with one coin per payline being the maximum possible bet. This means that Girl Slot is actually very affordable for people who don't want to break the bank.
The buttons on the side allow you to change the coin size, the number of paylines currently active, the pay tables, as well as the option to spin or max your bet automatically before doing so. There is no wild symbol, but there is a scatter symbol. Unfortunately, there is no option to activate an auto-spinner, which is a bit of a downside.
Everything but the Girl
Girl Slot is non-progressive and doesn't offer any kind of winnings multiplier, but it does offer a whole host of other features. For one, you can win a bunch of free spins. Second, there is a bonus game that can be activated, which gives you even greater potential to rack up winnings. And finally, the game offers a potentially huge jackpot, which given the cost to spin the reel even at 5 coins a spin is a pretty awesome return on your investment.
Girl Power!
Girl Slot stands out as a surprisingly good video slots game, as in spite of the plain name it actually offers some serious potential to win, while serving as a very affordable diversion for more casual gamblers who aren't looking to bet the house trying to win big. Hardcore gamblers might not find as much for them here as the maximum bet size per spin is fairly modest, but the big jackpot and bonus game mean that there is still plenty for them here as well.
The cute Japanese-style animations and sounds give this game a unique charm that helps it to stand out against the crowded field of video slots games, and the solid gameplay will ensure that you want to keep spinning the reels again and again. If you haven't played Girl Slot before, I highly suggest you give it a spin next time you are looking for a good game on the reels.
